Ferry services are popular at the Coast with passenger services running between Lamu Islands and the mainland. There is also a ferry service from operating between Mombasa at Likoni and the mainland.

Other ferry services are in operation on Lake Victoria with passenger services between Kisumu, Mbita and Homa Bay.

Avoid overcrowded ferries which run a risk of sinking, as reminiscent of the Mtongwe ferry disaster at the Coast in 1994.
