Only people 16 years of age and over are allowed to purchase duty free items which are limited to 568 ml of perfume, one bottle of alcohol, either 200 cigarettes, 225 grams of tobacco or 50 cigars.

The arrival process is normally smooth and you are not expected to pay duty on personal items except in cases where you are carrying highly specialized equipment for professional purposes.

You should be aware that some customs officers may ask for a bribe before letting you through. You can reject this and threaten to speak to a higher authority which usually results in them letting you through.
