Kenya is an East African Country situated on the equator off the Indian Ocean. Home to an amazing panorama of beautiful scenery and an array of physical features, the Country is capable of offering a satisfying exotic tour experience.
The country is home to Mount Kenya; which at 5,199 meters above sea level is the second highest peak on the African continent after Mount Kilimanjaro.
Kenya is also home to over forty Game Parks and Reserves where you will find an amazing variety of wildlife undisturbed in their natural habitat. The country is one of the leading safari destinations in Africa.
You can come across traditional nomadic Maasai communities herding their cattle in the savannah. The Kikuyu are the largest tribe in the country.
The local tourism industry also boasts pristine beaches located at the Kenyan Coast, favorable weather conditions, a diverse ethnic composition and quality accommodation options.
The tourism industry has somehow managed to escape political conflict in the past years remaining a top foreign income earner. Despite recent terrorist attacks in the country, arrivals have not been heavily affected.
Away from this “traditional tourist domains” is the real Kenya, consisting of an interesting transport system which includes overcrowded buses and “matatus”, the rich farmlands in the central and western parts of the country and the shanty dwellings in the cities and towns made of corrugated iron sheets. The slums at Kibera are one of the largest in the world.
